Well, If You Ask Me

Everyone knows “that guy.” It turns out that I might be “that guy.”

I occasionally receive emails from Phil at Movoto. A month ago he sent me a link to a list of “9 Knoxville Stereotypes.” This week, he wrote to me again, including the key sentence: “Let us know how we did!”

Hey Frank. It’s Phil with Movoto.

We published a post today on Knoxville that we thought WNOX listeners might enjoy: http://www.movoto.com/knoxville-tn/things-people-from-knoxville-have-to-explain/

Thought this might be fun to share on the site or socially! Let us know how we did! 🙂

Take care,

Hi Phil,

Thanks for sending these! I’ve used them on the air before and will continue to do so.

There’s a typo in #14. The Sunsphere is from the 1982 World’s Fair.

Also, the picture on #11 shows BBQ sauce from Sonny’s, a Florida-based chain that recently closed its Knoxville restaurant. Perhaps get a photo from a Knoxville based business like Dead End BBQ or Calhoun’s or M&M Catering.

By the way, Boomsday (#15) started as a radio promotion for our sister station, Star 102.1. The fireworks show is created by locally-based Pyro Shows and is choreographed to a musical soundtrack that airs on Star 102.1. They play a song that mentions smiles while they shoot fireworks that make the shape of smiley faces, for example. It’s really amazing how every shell in the 20 minute show is related to the music.

All the best,
Frank Murphy
