Most of the food booths at the HoLa Festival had closed by the time my wife and I got there. The entertainment on stage and the information booths still had another hour to go.
On our way to the festival, I joked that if we couldn’t find Latin food, we could get sushi at Shonos. They were closed too that night. We tried Soccer Taco but the wait for a table was about 30 minutes. That’s when I remembered some friends raving about a relatively new gourmet burger restaurant on Market Square that has been getting a lot of good press lately.
My wife ordered the Greek burger at The Stock and Barrel. She was especially pleased with the quality of the gluten-free bun. I tried to resist the Elvis burger but the power of the King was too great. I had to try a burger with peanut butter, fried bananas and Benton’s bacon. The beef was so good that the toppings were almost unnecessary. I plan on making several return visits to try other burgers on the menu.
