Pictured Beside Skeletons

Tennessee Life airs each month on East Tennessee PBS. Host Vickie Lawson and producer Stephanie Aldrich invited me to interview famed forensic anthropologist Dr. Bill Bass for the August episode of the show.

Dr. Bass and I recorded a sit-down interview on July 18 in front of the skeletal collection in Neyland Stadium. We shot additional footage on July 28 in the forensic anthropology building that is named after Dr. Bass.

As always, Dr. Bass used the interview as a teaching opportunity. We looked at a skeleton of a woman who had severe osteoporosis and an artificial hip. Some of her bones were as light as Styrofoam.

We shot over two hours of footage that will be edited down to a fifteen-minute segment. I am anxious to see which parts make it into the show.
