Off the air, Tommy Davidson and I talked about Washington broadcast legends like Willard Scott and George Michael. The comedian, who got his big break on In Living Color, grew up in D.C. He is in Knoxville this weekend to appear at Side Splitters Comedy Club.
During our interview, he told me that he worked at Bethesda Naval Hospital when he was in high school. More recently, he visited wounded soldiers there. We also talked about his plans to make a movie about Sammy Davis Jr. based on the book Deconstructing Sammy.
