Sherrie Shuler of Catholic Charities of East Tennessee sent me one of the nicest acknowledgement letters I’ve ever received. The leadership of CCETN was very pleased with the amount of money raised at the 16th Annual Kids Helping Kids Fun Walk to benefit Columbus Home. They were truly appreciative of the role Star 102.1 played in publicizing the Walk and in being on-site. I served as emcee of the event. Harrison Smith of the Minnesota Vikings was the honorary chair.
The East Tennessee Catholic posted a recap with all the details. They graciously included a photo of me presenting a giant check to Sr. Mary Christine Cremin. The prop represents the $1,615.50 I won for Columbus Home in the Host with the Most Competition last October. We remembered to change the amount from the previous year but forgot to change the date on the check.
Smith, Fr. Rich Andre and Fr. Michael Woods all sat in the dunk tank. When I announced that we needed another volunteer, a local firefighter took a turn. Kristin Farley of WATE participated in the Walk and stopped by to say hi to my wife and me. I was glad that she was a such a good sport about one of the jokes I had cracked at her expense during the Match Game at All Saints on Friday night.
