Harrison Smith was a star player at Knoxville Catholic High School and at the University of Notre Dame. My wife were in the stands at KCHS the night the coaches from Notre Dame and Tennessee were scouting Harrison.
Harrison now plays for the Minnesota Vikings. I’m delighted that he succeeded me as honorary chairman of the Kids Helping Kids Fun Walk to benefit Columbus Home. He stopped by Star 102.1 to record a public affairs interview about the event.
Judge Tim Irwin sends kids to Columbus Home to keep them out of state’s custody. Before his legal career, Irwin played football for the University of Tennessee and the Minnesota Vikings. In my interview with Harrison, he told me that Judge Irwin coached him at Sacred Heart Cathedral School.
The Walk happens a month from tomorrow on May the fourth (be with you) at Knoxville Catholic High School. You can register online before April 25 to guarantee a t-shirt in your size.
