The Tennessee Professional Investigators Association plans to surprise Dr. William Bass with the “2014 Investigator of the Year” award at their annual seminar on Saturday morning. They booked Dr. Bass as their guest speaker without telling him about the award.
The Investigator of the Year award is given to public or private investigators who have dedicated their lives to making Tennessee a better place. Dr. Bass is obviously deserving of the honor. He has helped solve many cases and he has identified many human remains.
A previous winner of the Investigator of the Year award was the late Ron Lax. He was instrumental in finding evidence that freed the West Memphis Three. Colin Firth plays Lax in the upcoming film Devil’s Knot.
