According to multiple articles, it was a matter of when, not if, I would have to do a factory reset on my smartphone. It was running a little slow but the real indicator was the phone’s inability to update apps. I often got an “insufficient memory” message.
The factory reset went smoothly. All I had to do was re-install the apps I wanted. The update for Facebook included several surprising things. The app can now “add or modify calendar events and send email to guests without owners’ knowledge, read calendar events plus confidential information, read your profile data.”
