After my wife set our DVR to record the new season of Downton Abbey, I tried to set it to record the new season of Sherlock. However, January 19 is still too far away to be in the on-screen guide. I will have to try again on January 5.
There is a two-and-a-half minute video on PBS.org titled “Sherlock, Season 3: Behind the Scenes.” The clip includes comments from co-creator Steven Moffat and producer Sue Vertue. They are the real-life inspirations for the characters Steve and Susan in Moffat’s hysterical sitcom, Coupling.
Sherlock fans in England get to see the Season 3 premiere on New Year’s Day. There are already plenty of theories online about how Sherlock faked his death. We will all need to avoid British spoilers for the 18 days until the episode airs on PBS.
We can have our appetite somewhat sated by a behind-the-scenes show called Unlocking Sherlock that airs on January 12 at 10:00 p.m. Imagine my delight when I realized that PBS made the show available early for online viewing!
