Becca James takes over the midday shift on Star 102.1 on Monday. I’ve been covering the 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. timeslot since April 15. Becca moved here from Houston, where she did weekend shifts on KRBE. For the past few days, she has been shadowing me and getting ready for her midday debut by doing a few overnight practice shifts. Becca sounds great and will do a fantastic job.

I originally thought I would remain on Star 102.1 longer. However, the company decided to hire my replacement now in order to expedite my transfer to Classic Hits 93.1 WNOX. I’ll make my debut as the afternoon deejay on WNOX in a few weeks, once I get the greenlight from my boss. I will still turn up on Star 102.1 to fill-in during vacations and on some weekends.

Yesterday Hot Toddy asked me if I was going to say anything about my departure on the air. I said I could probably mention something about it over the ten-second intro of “Cups” by Anna Kendrick.
