The pictures tell the story of the 3rd Annual Hearth Scares Ball. The event is a benefit for James White’s Fort, also known as Knoxville’s first home. WNOX was the radio sponsor and I did some light emceeing duties on Friday night.
My wife and I dressed as Sam’s Club receipt checkers. She wore exaggerated makeup, including false eyelashes and a layer of bronzer, which she took from my TV makeup bag. I took a picture of her with filmmaker John Hudgens and Heather Harris. John was dressed as an Animal Handler.
I had my picture made with some of the people I knew including Judge Tim Irwin of the Chillbillies, Kim and Scott Bumpas, Sam Maynard, Cheri Brantley, Alan Williams, and a lady dressed as Melanie Daniels.
Around 9:30, the Chillbillies took a break while a Michael Jackson impersonator and a troupe of zombie dancers entertained the crowd. They danced to “Thriller” and “Bad.”
