Proceeds from the 36th annual Apple Festival at Washington Presbyterian Church in Corryton went to three great causes: Wesley House, Morgan-Scott Project and Living Water International. My wife and I learned about the beneficiaries after we got there. We went to the festival in search of apple butter.
We were warned that the apple butter, the freshly-pressed apple cider and the fried apple pies would sell out. My wife and I did get one of the last pies, which we split after sharing a BBQ sandwich.
We couldn’t get any of the first batch of apple butter. We were lucky enough to encounter one of my colleagues who said she would still be there when the second batch was ready. She took our $7 and promised to bring the apple butter to work on Monday.
