Despite the topic and location, I felt extremely alive last night. I was in my element: in front of a crowd; at a funeral home; talking about forensics with Jon Jefferson and Dr. Bill Bass. Jefferson and Bass were the guests of honor at this month’s meeting of the FBI Knoxville Citizens Academy Alumni Association.
Today, it’s a different story. I have felt drained all day. This evening I discovered I had a temperature of 100.7, which forced me to miss the weekly Einstein Simplified improv show. I’m especially bummed because two good friends from the Gatlinburg Improv Fest were in the audience and because one of our auditionees was scheduled to make her debut on stage with the group.
During the course of today, I received several good photos of last night’s event that I can post here tomorrow. One came from FBI Community Outreach Specialist Pam Detko. In a large font, she wrote, “Personally I think you would be a great funeral director.”
