It’s nice to be wanted. This week, I accepted two invitations. Both are for return engagements and both are for opportunities to garner laughs.
Side Splitters Comedy Club invited me to defend my title as Host with the Most. Like last year, I will compete on behalf of Columbus Home Children’s Emergency Shelter. This year’s fundraiser will be held on Sunday, October 13. That gives me two months to write new jokes and to polish them at open-mic nights.
The Oak Ridge Civic Ballet Association asked me to appear in The Nutcracker for the third consecutive year. Once again, I’ll have a comedic role during the party scene in Act I. Apparently my portrayal of one of Cinderella’s ugly stepsisters in their Spring production didn’t deter them. The Nutcracker performances are on November 23 and 24 as ORCBA celebrates its 50th season.
