Rest in Pieces

Many of the bones in the William M. Bass Skeletal Collection are from people who chose to donate their bodies to science. There are also some skeletons from people who had no idea their remains would go there.

In a video by the Knoxville News Sentinel, Dr. Lee Jantz describes an unsolved case from 1993. A man died after being hit by a car on Cedar Bluff Road. When he decomposed at the Body Farm, it became apparent that he had suffered previous injuries, likely from being hit by another car.
