Who’s the Boss?

One of my high-school classmates won the “Nanny of the Month” award from ReasonTV. Eastchester Town Supervisor Anthony S. Colavita has banned “fast casual” restaurants like Panera Bread and Chipotle. The town board had already banned fast food restaurants like McDonald’s and Burger King.

What if one of Colavita’s constituents wanted to have a Fuji Apple Chicken salad (one of my personal favorites)? Colavita said, “They can travel to White Plains, Mount Vernon, Yonkers or New Rochelle to get their fix of fast food.” He told Fox 5 that “Eastchester is a very upscale community,” thereby implying that the other four cities are not.

Colavita named the four cities that border Eastchester. Three of them resonate with me. My father grew up in Mount Vernon and I grew up in Yonkers. Colavita and I attended a high school in New Rochelle.

One Response to Who’s the Boss?

Do the words “restraint of trade” sound interesting. I think all these restaurants should go together and file a lawsuit. I think a federal judge might have a little fun with this one. I don’t know what business this councilman has, maybe residents should say we don’t want you here either.
