Finding Bigfoot

As happens after a sighting of Sasquatch or Nessie, a blurry photo made the rounds in Oak Ridge over the weekend. Dr. Brandon Cottrell and I had barely finished hamming our way through a rehearsal with the Oak Ridge Civic Ballet Association before the picture was posted on Facebook by director Molly Quist’s daughter Katrina.

On Saturday, April 13, Brandon, Brian Swail and I will do slapstick in the middle of an otherwise perfectly good ballet. We have performances at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the Oak Ridge High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets can be purchased online.

The first half of the Spring production is “Once Upon a Time,” featuring scenes from classic fairy tales including¬†The Princess and the Frog; Snow White; Red Riding Hood; Cinderella; Puss & Boots; Rapunzel and Hansel & Gretel. The second half of the show is a classic ballet called “Paquita,” starring professional dancers Ashleyanne Hensley and Noel Dupuis. The pair also appeared in ORCBA’s production of “The Nutcracker” last November.
