The Kids Helping Kids Fun Walk raises money for Columbus Home Children’s Services, which houses at-risk youth in our community. Many of the children were placed there by the Knox County Juvenile Court in order to keep them out of state’s custody.

The 15th annual Fun Walk takes place on Sunday, April 21. I am the honorary chairman again this year. The online registration site went live last week. The Walk also has a Facebook page and a Twitter account, which will be more active as the event draws near.

Registering for the Walk gets you a t-shirt, food and admission to a family festival before the walk. This year’s committee chairman, Carroll McMahan, had the great idea to invite costumed mascots. The kids in attendance also enjoy the “dollar a holler” shout-outs that I’ll do over the PA system at Knoxville Catholic High School’s football stadium.

Andrew Smith of WBIR produced a public service announcement for the Fun Walk. We shot the video in the studio at Star 102.1.

I received a copy of this year’s poster via email. Here’s a scaled down version. Click here to download the full-size PDF if you are able to display a poster at your place of business.
