The winning entry in this year’s Washington Post Peeps diorama contest is very clever. The Peeps are having a funeral for their friend, the Twinkie. Other Hostess cakes are buried in the churchyard outside.
While the Post displays Peeps as art, several other sites are displaying Peeps as food and drink. Baking Bites tells you how to soak Peeps in vodka to make Peeps-flavored vodka. Yes, it’s as simple as it sounds.
Famous chocolatier Jacques Torres loves Peeps. He dips them in chocolate (obviously) and then decorates them to look like they’re wearing tuxedos or in the case of a Pope Peep, a mitre and chasuble made of fondant.
