Wrongful Death

Bridgette Martin asked the comedians at open-mic night if they wanted to chip in for the flowers she is sending in memory of Brian E. Kiley. The Nashville-based comic was on his way to the airport after a gig in North Carolina when he was killed by a drunk driver on Sunday. Over the weekend, Kiley did theater shows with Jon Reep in Newton and Holly Springs.

Kiley’s friends have set up a memorial account at Southeast Financial Credit Union, Attn: Brian Kiley Fund, 220 South Royal Oaks Boulevard, Franklin, TN 37064. He will be buried in Nashville on Saturday after a funeral at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Madison, Tennessee. Kiley got married last year. The word around Side Splitters was that he wanted to spend more time with his wife and less time on the road.

I saw Kiley perform a few times at Side Splitters Comedy Club in Knoxville. He was the emcee when Bobcat Goldthwait headlined in 2010. You can watch a couple of his routines on YouTube.
