Nash Annals

The Assumption Men’s Schola sang in Latin at the Mass my wife and I attended this morning. We enjoy visiting older churches when we travel. The art and architecture are more ornate than modern churches. The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the second oldest Catholic church in Nashville.

During the Civil War, the pastor at Assumption was killed on the battlefield while ministering to injured Catholic soldiers. The elaborate altars were installed in 1887. I was impressed by the Station of the Cross, which hang on the walls between stained glass windows.
