The full schedule for the second annual Gatlinburg Improv Fest will be announced today. Once again, the Fest will be held at Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre. There will be three shows on Friday, March 8 and three shows on Saturday, March 9. Showtimes are 6:00, 8:00 and 10:00 p.m. Two improv groups will perform during each show. Tickets cost $10 per show or $25 for the whole night.
The skills of improv are beneficial in all aspects of life. There will be several classes offered during the day on Saturday, March 9. Festival director James Newport will offer a free improv class for beginners. I strongly urge you to find a way to attend one of the classes.
As a member of Einstein Simplified, I’ve been tipped off that our group will be performing at 8:00 p.m. on March 8 and at 10:00 p.m. on March 9. The Saturday show will be a competition between Einstein Simplified and female improvisers from the other groups.
We’ll all participate in the improv jam after the scheduled shows like we did last year. If you can stay awake, it’s worth sticking around to watch.
The Hard Rock Cafe has offered to help promote the Gatlinburg Improv Fest. Various improvisers will perform “teaser sets” in the Hard Rock Cafe. We hope to entice the dinner crowd to walk 118 yards down the street to Sweet Fanny Adams to catch the next show.
