Mark Nagi covered sports for WATE prior to trading in the odd hours for a 9 to 5 job at TDOT. When he tweeted a link to TDOT’s new smartphone app, I invited him to come in and talk about it on the Journal Broadcast Group’s public affairs program. You can listen to the half-hour program at the podcast link below.
We also talked about the electronic highway message boards, which have displayed the number of highway deaths in 2011 and 2012. The death toll will now be displayed only on Fridays instead of every day. We recorded the interview on Friday, shortly after the news came out that TDOT decided to rebuild the piers of the Henley Bridge rather than repair them.
Mark and I competed against each other in the first Dancing with the Knoxville Stars. Neither of us won.
