The Well lives up to its name. The nightclub is below a strip mall between Sequoyah Hills and Bearden. When you open the door, all you see are the stairs leading down to the bar. The previous tenant was a jazz club called 4620, which is also their address on Kingston Pike.
Last night, Einstein Simplified performed at The Well for the first time. It will be our new home base, with an improv show every Tuesday night at 8:00 p.m. The Well also hosts an open-mic stand-up comedy night on Mondays.
Attendance was good for our first outing. Most of the people in the audience had seen us before, either at Side Splitters or years ago at Patrick Sullivan’s. A lot of people, myself included, took advantage of the $5 burger special The Well offers on Tuesdays.
The Well is a 21+ establishment. They allow smoking in one closed room. Fortunately, the smoke was impossible to detect in the main room where we performed and ate.
Photographer Tonya Cinnamon, who was always great to us at Side Splitters, came to the show last night to get some action shots and a new group shot for our Facebook page. She sent me two photos to post here:
