Tech Mate

Oak Ridge Civic Ballet Association - The Nutcracker 2012 poster Beth Haynes of WBIR-TV sent me a tweet of encouragement for the Oak Ridge Civic Ballet Association’s performances of “The Nutcracker” this weekend. Beth was invited to appear in the party scene but she had to decline due to November sweeps. In her youth, Beth took dance lessons from ORCBA artistic director Molly Koon Quist.

I play the Governor in two of the performances at the Oak Ridge High School Performing Arts Center. You can see me on Saturday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, November 18 at 2:00 p.m.

At the start of each rehearsal, my running joke with Dr. Brandon Cottrell is to say “catch me later.” He literally has to catch me on stage when my character drunkenly dances out of control.

At Wednesday night’s rehearsal, Alyshia Fields asked for my email address so she could send some pictures of Jenny Collins and me in action. I especially like seeing the smiles on the faces of the other dancers as Jenny and I are acting like an old, bickering couple.
