Take a Crack at It

Frugalissa Finds is giving away a pair of tickets to the Oak Ridge Civic Ballet Association’s production of “The Nutcracker.” There are still two days left for you to enter the contest on her site.

Oak Ridge Civic Ballet Association - The Nutcracker 2012 poster I play the Governor in two of the performances at the Oak Ridge High School Performing Arts Center. You can see me dance erratically on Saturday, November 17 at 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, November 18 at 2:00 p.m. I played the same part last year. After the toast, my partner and I waltz across the stage, crashing twice. This year, Jenny Collins will play the Governess.

Oak Ridge Civic Ballet Association - The Nutcracker 2011 - rehearsal This time around, I get to wear the costume that I almost got to wear last year. Originally, ORCBA used the blue and tan suit for the Mouse King. When I learned it was available this year, I claimed it. Last year, I gave my character a little bit of extra business during the party scene. Director Molly Koon Quist said I should once again show lots of enthusiasm when the boys scare the girls with toy mice.

Ok, I thought you were kidding about being in the Nutcracker. WOW! You are SERIOUS. Look forward to seeing you dance, Frank.

  2. Frank Murphy says:

Ha! If I was kidding, I would have said I was a good dancer. When I said I play an old man who dances poorly, you should have known it was real!!
