Stage and Screen

Thanks to digital technology, I was on television and on stage at the same time last night. The staff at East Tennessee PBS invited me to appear on their pledge drive. When I declined due to a previous commitment, they asked if I could pre-record my segments, which I did last week.

At 7 o’clock last night, I was waiting in the wings at the Oak Ridge High School Performing Arts Center. The Oak Ridge Civic Ballet Association invited me to reprise the role I played last year in their production of “The Nutcracker.” Melissa Cox, who runs the website Frugalissa Finds, attended last night’s show and sent me some kind words via Twitter.

There’s one more chance to see this year’s ORCBA production in person. We dance again at 2 o’clock this afternoon. My wife couldn’t attend last night’s show but will be there today. ORCBA has arranged for M&M Productions to record both performances. Now we have to decide if she should buy a DVD copy of the Saturday show to see what she missed or a copy of the Sunday show to keep as a souvenir.
