Dinner with the Bone Doctor at Echo Bistro & Wine Bar - August 13, 2012 - Dinner with the Bone Doctor at Echo Bistro & Wine Bar - August 13, 2012 - There were three things inside the mystery box at Echo Bistro & Wine Bar Monday night. The guests arriving for Dinner with the Bone Doctor could reach inside and feel the items without seeing them. I was positive that I felt part of a skull and part of a pelvis. The third bone stumped me. It turned out to be a fragment of a child’s femur.

He asked the diners to feel their own bones, starting at the skull and working down to to the ankles, stopping at interesting bones along the way. He used himself as a model.

Once again, the Bone Zones team asked me to emcee the evening. I pointed out to the audience that Dr. Bass is known not only for his forensic books but for the osteology textbook he wrote. The guests were thrilled to hear that Jon Jefferson and Dr. Bass will collaborate on an eighth Body Farm novel, this time dealing with a serial killer.

I especially liked the sauteed apple slices atop the salad and the light, flaky sea bass entree. The outstanding dessert consisted of chocolate cheesecake with fresh berries.
