Kaihla Dailey asked if any of us in Einstein Simplified could help facilitate a class on improv. On Saturday, she was the guest lecturer in a class of students studying to be teachers at LMU’s Cedar Bluff campus. Paul Simmons and I were available. Kaihla divided the class into three groups. We each took a section and had them try several improv games including Freeze Tag, Three-Line Scene, Word-at-a-Time Story and some warm-up games.
I learned something too. Kaihla showed a video of an improviser named Dave Morris giving a great presentation at TEDxVictoria entitled “The Way of Improvisation.” In addition to learning more about improv, I was motivated to look up the meaning of TED and TEDx.
