Santa and I recognized each other right away. I think my wife and my mother-in-law were impressed that he knew my name. To be fair, Santa and I are friends on Facebook but I didn’t know he would be on-duty at Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland last night. He told me he had a spare suit in case a kid had an accident. I asked if he had been to Hair Appeal, the Alpharetta salon that specializes in Santa hair and beards and he said yes. Santa also gave me a few pointers for my upcoming return engagement as Santa’s helper in Seymour.
My wife and I toured the synchronized light display two years ago when it first opened at Smokies Park. Since then, they have expanded to Nashville, Myrtle Beach and a spot near Frederick, Maryland. My mother-in-law loved the light show and hoped that her other children could see it. Most of them live close enough to Frederick, where the following video was shot:
