Saloon, Farewell

Einstein Simplified moved back to Patrick Sullivan’s shortly after I joined the group in 2002. It was almost exactly a year ago when we felt it was time to move on. The bar had been put up for sale in July of 2010 and owner Frank Gardner had expressed concerns about his health. We had a six-month run at The Square Room before finding a new home at Side Splitters Comedy Club.

On Monday night we read the sad news that Patrick Sullivan’s had closed. Gardner cited financial and personal health reasons for the closure. All three local news stations covered the story on Tuesday.

The building is still for sale with an asking price of $875,000. It would be great if the buyer also has the cash to invest in upgrades and improvements to the 123-year old landmark.
