Fowl Playoffs
Generally speaking, I root against teams named after birds. Four of the NFL’s five bird teams are in the playoffs and three of them played during Wild Card weekend. Two of them won. Happily for me, the birds that lost were the Eagles. As NFC East rivals of the Redskins, the Eagles are one of my least favorite teams. Ever.
My friend Bean, who lives in Seattle, is thrilled that the Seahawks won. They were the only home team to do so. Seattle reached the playoffs despite having a 7-9 regular season record. I was amazed to read that the only way the Seahawks can achieve a winning record is by winning the Super Bowl. If they were to lose the Super Bowl, they would be 10-10.
I hate the way the Ravens abandoned my friend Charlie and all Cleveland Browns fans by moving to Baltimore. I do have one reason to support Baltimore. One of my cousins has a daughter who is a second year cheerleader for them.
