The Man Is Keeping Me Down
At $12.98, the short-sleeve Van Heusen shirts at Sam’s Club are a pretty good value. They meet the dress code at work and are comfortable. I wouldn’t have to try them on because I know I wear a medium on the Walmart/Sam’s size chart. Although I liked several, I chose not to buy any. Why not? Patterns don’t look good on video.
In the past few months, I have had the opportunity to be on TV for the Children’s Hospital telethon and in PSAs for the hospital and for Catholic Charities. I was also on an Internet talk show twice. For each of these events, I had to choose a solid-colored shirt, which is harder than it sounds. My closet is mostly populated with the plaid and striped shirts I bought at Sam’s. So if I want to be on-camera more often, all I need is more solid shirts, right?
